Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers about fees, refunds, study, certificates and support.

Fees & payments
How much does my course cost?

Security $1,250 · Accounting & Bookkeeping $4,750 · Diploma of IT $8,250 · Advanced Diploma of IT $15,750 · White Card $99. Totals include tuition, registration ($250) and materials ($500) where applicable; tuition is GST-exempt.

Do I pay everything upfront?

Long courses take a $1,500 deposit with the balance by instalments. We never hold more than $1,500 prepaid. Security ($1,250) and White Card ($99) are paid in full at registration as they sit under that cap.

How can I pay?

Credit card or EFT, within 5 days of invoice or before commencement — whichever comes first. Cash is not accepted.

Refunds & changing plans
What if I cancel before the course starts?

10+ business days before commencement: full refund. 9 business days or less: 75% refund. See the Fees & Refund Policy.

Can I get a refund after commencement?

Not ordinarily — though the CEO may grant a credit or refund for demonstrated extenuating circumstances. If we cancel or cease a course, you receive a full refund for services not delivered plus a Statement of Attainment for completed units.

Can I defer, transfer or swap courses?

Deferral: before commencement, ≥5 working days notice, up to 6 months. Substitution: up to 5 working days before start. Transfers: any time, subject to availability and credit crossover.

Study & assessment
What if I am assessed Not Yet Competent?

You receive detailed feedback, extra training and re-assessment — three attempts in total at no additional cost.

Can I use AI tools in assessments?

Using AI to generate full or partial assessment answers, workplace documents or portfolios — or to bypass skill development — is academic misconduct. We monitor for AI-generated content.

Can I get credit for prior study or experience?

Yes — Credit Transfer for units already achieved, RPL for skills from work and life. Significant credit reduces fees and duration.

Certificates & support
When do I get my certificate?

Within 30 calendar days of completion, once all fees are paid and your USI is verified. Duplicates reissue within 2 weeks of payment.

What support is available?

LLN help, disability liaison, study assistance, reasonable adjustments and welfare referrals — all free, with an individual Student Support Plan where needed.

How do I complain or appeal?

In writing to info@swiftskills.edu.au — acknowledged in 2 working days, resolved within 7 days, written outcome in 5 working days; assessment appeals within 7 calendar days of your result. External options include the National Training Complaints Service on 13 38 73. Full process.
