What it is, why you need it, and how to get one ยท Swift Skills RTO 46501
A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a 10-character alphanumeric code that creates a secure online record of your nationally recognised training and qualifications in Australia. It is linked to your name and date of birth and stays with you for life โ regardless of where you study.
The USI system is managed by the Australian Government’s Student Identifiers Registrar.
You’ll need one of: Driver Licence, Passport, Medicare Card, Birth Certificate or other accepted ID.
Follow the online prompts. Your USI is created instantly โ free of charge.
Provide your USI to Swift Skills on your enrolment form or by emailing student services.
On your enrolment form, you will be asked to authorise Swift Skills to verify your USI with the Student Identifiers Registrar. This authorisation is required by law and is used only for the purpose of verifying your identity and managing your training records.
If you created a USI previously and have forgotten it, you can retrieve it at usi.gov.au using your identity documents.
In very limited circumstances, an exemption from the USI requirement may apply. Contact the Student Identifiers Registrar directly at usi.gov.au if you believe you may be eligible for an exemption. Swift Skills cannot grant exemptions.
Contact Swift Skills student services and we will assist you through the USI creation process:
It’s free, takes about 5 minutes, and you’ll need it before you start training.
