Course Overview

Build your career in technology

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of ICT roles with significant experience in specialist technical skills, or managerial business and people management skills. Graduates carry out complex tasks in a specialist field β€” working independently, leading a team, or steering the strategic direction of a business β€” across a wide range of industries, including as a business owner (sole trader/contractor).

Specialisation focus: telecommunications network engineering β€” managing logistics, organisational specifications, regulations and legislative requirements across network projects.

Hands-on facilities: training uses a live LAN/WAN/wireless network, Cisco routers and switches, network racks, cable testers and crimping tools, Windows Server environments, Packet Tracer, NAS and Wi-Fi access points. Loan laptops are available at no additional cost where required.
Delivery

How you'll learn

20 hours per week in the classroom over 56 weeks (including 4 weeks of holidays), blending practical and theoretical components with regularly simulated workplace environments. Assessment per unit includes written questions, projects, case studies, role plays, research and reports β€” in class and in your own time.

Recognition

RPL & credit transfer

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): If you have already gained the skills and experience for a unit or the entire qualification, you can apply for RPL by providing evidence of previous training, employment experience or other relevant skills. Successful applications may reduce training time and, where significant credit is granted, course fees and duration.

Credit Transfer (CT): All students can apply for credit transfer for units already completed with another RTO or authorised issuing organisation, verified against AQF certification documents or USI transcripts. Our Student Support Officer will guide you through the process.

After The Course

Completion & certification

On successful completion you will be awarded the Testamur for ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology together with a Record of Results detailing all units completed. On partial completion, a Statement of Attainment is issued for the units achieved.
