    3. Enrolment

Before commencing training, all students must complete and submit a signed Enrolment Form. As part of enrolment, you will be required to:

  • Provide proof of identity (e.g. passport, driver licence)
  • Provide or obtain your Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • Declare any prior qualifications relevant to the course
  • Complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment
  • Review and agree to the terms in this handbook and the Student Agreement

  • Swift Skills reserves the right to decline an enrolment application if entry requirements are not met or if the course is not suitable for the applicant.

    4. Unique Student Identifier (USI)

All students must have a USI before training commences. Swift Skills is legally required to collect and verify your USI under the Student Identifiers Act 2014 (Cth). We cannot issue any AQF certification without a verified USI on file.

Your USI is a reference number that creates an online record of your nationally recognised training in Australia. You can create a USI for free at usi.gov.au. For assistance, visit our USI Information page or contact student services.

    5. Fees, Payment & Refunds

Fee information for each course is provided in the course information sheet and on the relevant course page of our website. Fees must be paid in full (or an approved payment plan established) before training commences.

    Refund Policy Summary

  • Withdrawal 10+ business days before commencement: Full refund minus a $150 administration fee
  • Withdrawal 5–9 business days before commencement: 50% refund of tuition fees
  • Withdrawal less than 5 business days before, or after commencement: No refund, unless Swift Skills cancels the course (in which case a full refund is provided)

  • Full details are in our Refund Policy. Refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@swiftskills.edu.au.

Protection of fees: Swift Skills collects fees in accordance with the requirements of the Standards for RTOs 2025. Where fees are prepaid, they are held in accordance with applicable consumer protection obligations.

    6. Training & Assessment

All training and assessment is conducted against the requirements of the relevant training package qualification. Assessment is competency-based — you will be assessed as either Competent (C) or Not Yet Competent (NYC).

Assessment tasks may include written questions, practical demonstrations, projects, observations and workplace evidence. You will receive a clear assessment brief for each task. Where you receive an NYC result, you will have at least one opportunity for reassessment at no additional cost.

All assessment practices meet the principles of validity, reliability, flexibility and fairness as required by ASQA.

    7. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) & Credit Transfer

RPL is an assessment process that allows you to gain credit for skills and knowledge you already have — acquired through work, life experience or previous training. To apply for RPL, contact student services before enrolment.

Credit Transfer is available for units you have previously completed that are equivalent to units in your current course. Provide certified copies of your prior transcript to student services. Credit transfer is granted at no additional cost.

    8. Attendance & Participation

Regular attendance and participation is essential for competency-based training. You are expected to attend all scheduled sessions. If you cannot attend, notify Swift Skills as soon as possible.

Students who have not attended for a period of time without contact may be withdrawn from their course. Swift Skills will make reasonable attempts to contact you before any withdrawal is finalised.

    9. Student Code of Conduct

    All students are expected to:

  • Treat trainers, staff and other students with respect and courtesy
  • Submit all assessment work honestly — plagiarism or academic misconduct will result in an NYC result and may lead to withdrawal from the course
  • Not attend training under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Comply with workplace health and safety requirements at all times
  • Respect Swift Skills’ facilities and equipment
  • Not engage in any form of bullying, harassment or discrimination
  • Breaches of the Code of Conduct may result in a warning, suspension or withdrawal from training. The relevant procedure in our Complaints & Appeals Policy applies to any disciplinary matter.

    10. Student Support Services

Swift Skills is committed to providing a supportive learning environment. Support available includes:

  • Pre-enrolment information and guidance
  • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) support
  • USI assistance
  • Flexible assessment arrangements for students with disability or health conditions
  • Referral to external support services (e.g. counselling, housing, financial assistance) where needed
  • Contact student services at info@swiftskills.edu.au or 1300 579 438 to discuss any support needs.

    11. Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN)

All students complete an LLN assessment at enrolment. This is not a selection test — it is used to identify any additional support you may need to successfully complete your training. If LLN support is identified as appropriate, we will work with you to arrange suitable assistance.

    12. Certification & AQF Credentials

Upon successful completion of all units, Swift Skills will issue your AQF qualification or Statement of Attainment within 30 calendar days of the completion date. Credentials are issued under the full legal name of Swift Skills (V&I Swift Skill Institute Pty Ltd, RTO 46501) and carry the NRT logo, confirming they are nationally recognised.

A Statement of Attainment will be issued if you complete some, but not all, units of a qualification.

    13. Training Records

Swift Skills maintains secure records of all enrolment, assessment and completion data. You have the right to access your records at any time. Request access in writing at info@swiftskills.edu.au. Training records are retained for a minimum of 30 years.

    14. Complaints & Appeals

You have the right to raise a concern, make a complaint or appeal any decision. Full details of our process are available in our Complaints & Appeals Policy. Key points:

  • Complaints and appeals are handled impartially and confidentially
  • You will not be disadvantaged for raising a concern
  • If you are unsatisfied with our internal process, you may contact ASQA at asqa.gov.au/complaints

    16. Work Health & Safety

Swift Skills has a duty to provide a safe learning environment under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
